Heartwood ReSources (HRS) is a social enterprise with a triple bottom line: it extends the life of our landfill by diverting reusable and donated building materials, it sells the materials to make home repairs affordable, and it trains and employs people needing a second chance (hard to place people and vulnerable populations).
HRS employs previously incarcerated workers at our 15,600 square foot store in Roseburg. We haul trailers to construction sites, leave them there, and pick them up when they are full of excess construction materials. We receive hundreds of in-kind donations of building materials and household items from individuals and local businesses per year. We also recycle scrap metal, paint, garden planters, and egg cartons at our store and help customers repurpose items through Do-It-Yourself projects.
