Glendale 4th of July Celebration

Greetings from Glendale!

Are you ready for some fun in the sun? We sure are! It was a long cold winter, and we are looking forward to all of the Spring/Summer events. It is the season for graduations, camping trips (Galesville Reservoir is full 😊), boating, fishing, family get togethers, and all the fun things that the season has to offer. If you have not done so already, for around the County events and information, you can go to www.connectdouglascounty.org. It is a great place to find resources, events, volunteering, etc. There are people from all around the County that have pitched in and created this awesome website for people to get information in one spot. It is always being updated; I am proud to say that Glendale was a part of creating this website for resources.

Speaking of events, boy does Glendale have a lot going on this summer. June 3rd starts off the events with the Prom that is being held at the Azalea Grange. The kids are real excited for that but they are even more excited about graduation that is on June 9th. The kids really worked so hard and we are so proud of our students. In the afternoon of June 9th there is a graduation parade that runs from the High School to town and back to the High School and then graduation is later that night.

June 17th will be a first for us, but we hope to continue it. It will be a Father’s Day Car show and Potluck. Bring your car (old, new, does not matter, we’re here to celebrate the Dad’s) and a dish and let’s celebrate the awesome Father’s out there. This will be a lot of fun with a lot of great cars to look at. This will begin at 12:30 PM at the Veterans Memorial Park on Pacific Ave. We hope to see you there.

Now for July. Our favorite because we have a 3-day event for the 4th of July. It will run from July 2nd to July 4th. There will be kids games, dunk tank, food booth (hamburgers, nachos, and more), crafts booths, misc. booths, cake walk, anvil toss, parade and the Fireworks on the 4th at the High School. There is also a fireworks truck where you can purchase some fireworks for you and your family to enjoy. A huge Thank You to CCVCA who puts on almost all of the events in Glendale and a huge Thank You to the Glendale Rural Fire Department for setting off the fireworks and keeping us all safe!

August 12th will be the annual City-Wide Yard Sale. The town is so crowded during this event, and it is great! People sign their yard sales up and get put on a map which will be available on google maps and for those that live outside of town, there are space rentals at the Veterans Memorial Park. We get people from all over the State coming for this.

Also, Morningstar Coffee house has events all summer such as Wednesday Evening Farmer’s Market (from 4:00-6:00 PM) where people can bring their goodies, crafts etc. It is as great way to meet and get to know some amazing people! Our Library has many events all summer long also. Check these pages to keep up to date on events:

We sure hope you can come out and enjoy some of the fun here. You won’t be disappointed! Happy Summer Everyone!!
