This beginning ceramics class will introduce the basic elements of clay. Students will learn the procedures of working with clay from beginning use of wet clay, through the various stages to completed, fired pieces. Techniques taught will include pinching, coil building, slab construction and maybe a possible bonus wheel throwing-depending on class dynamics. Basics in tool use, glazing and firing will be included. Registration to this 4 week course includes use of clay and four finished, fired projects.
This class is reserved for 4 year olds through 6th grade. Parents with 4-6 year olds will need to stay to assist their child.
