Spark your passion by supporting others in maintaining their dignity, quality of life, and assuring their needs are being met.
Guardian Partners trains local, dedicated community members with an interest in advocating for adults who have developmental and/or cognitive impairments and are under the legal protection of a guardian. Guardianship in Oregon is a legal relationship where another is appointed to make decisions on behalf of those who are unable to make decisions for themselves. Across the state, there are over 15,000 guardianships. Before Guardian Partners, oversight of guardianship cases in Oregon was almost non-existent.
To address this, we train Volunteer Case Monitors to provide limited oversight of cases by interviewing and meeting with adults living with disabilities, including people with developmental disabilities and seniors with cognitive impairments. Case Monitors interview those involved in their care and make recommendations/share resources. Our mission is to protect and serve those who need it most, one case at a time.
Case Monitors are at the heart of our mission. Your impact can be profound.
